Inspiration: original plan

My original plan was to create Francis Bacon's Innocent Pope X portrait. And I was able to create it; however, one piece fell off, and then the rest came with it. The whole crumbled to my horror. I felt deterred and frustrated. I decided it was going to be too difficult to create it again with the little time I had left. So looked at other paintings and found this traditional Santa Claus painting by Sara Mosqueda. She got a bachelor's degree in communications from Cal State Fullerton. There is not much other information out there on her. I didn't have too much time, so I made it rather simple. The presents are probably the better-looking part of it. And while Santa may have lost his arms and his hat, he still has his jolly Christmas spirit. The main difficulty of the sleigh was getting the proportions right. I also used balls to connect the rail on the bottom to the bottom of the sleigh itself, because otherwise it would break. I did a simple glaze with red and yellow. The presents have some more color with blue and green. It is not the best final; however, I believe it is beautiful in its simplicity. It spreads Christmas cheer. The other main difficulty was creating Santa Claus himself. I tried a few times to create him. But the end result is a simple creation because anytime I tried to have a lot of detail, it would look demented. His hat and arms did fall off, as you can see. He is definitely the worst part of the creation, but it isn't horrible.
